As of March 25, 2025, IRCC has removed CRS points for a confirmed job offer
(LMIA-based job offer) in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)
for all current and future candidates in the Express Entry pool.

Which points are being removed?

  • 200 points for a job offer under NOC 00 (senior management)
  • 50 points for job offers in other skilled occupations

What does this mean for CEC candidates?

  • If your CRS previously included 50 or 200 points for an LMIA,
your score will decrease within a week (once the changes are implemented)
  • The CEC program does not require a job offer,
    so your eligibility remains intact,
but your chances of receiving an invitation may change
  • This may also signal fluctuations in cutoff scores for CEC
and a potential CEC-specific draw, which has been on pause since February 5, 2025

What is not changing?

❗ If a job offer is a mandatory requirement of the program,
this change does not affect your eligibility.

This applies to:

  • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
  • Certain PNP streams
